Answer: Thermostats are usually located be there is a housing for it on the engine. Return line s don't have a housing for the thermostat. In other words a radiator hose that clamps onto an engine outlet is not be the thermostat is located. An outlet that has the radiator hose attached and has a housing were at most minuscule two bolts have to be removed is were you will find your thermostat.
