1992 Honda Accord Makes Loud High Pitched Noise When Turning, Why?
I have a 1992 Honda accord ex. When I'm in motion and turn the vehicle any way it makes this high pitched thud. It's on and off, and sometimes it takes a little turn and sometimes it take a big turn to hear it. What can I do to fix this?

Check your power steering fluid- it may be low. I would more suspect that there is a problem in the steering column/ rack or similar component. If that's the case, it's not something you'll be capable of fix on your own, unless you are a very experienced mechanic. If your fluid isn't leaking (check it at least once a week for a while to see if the smooth is dropping at all), consider just learning to live with it unless it get to the point that it's hard to turn, etc. For a 1992, it's due to have some steering noises! Finally, check beside your local Honda dealership. Some dealerships will do a diagnosis for only a small charge- that will give you an idea of how much money you're looking at to fix it. If it is full of fluid, later the problem is most likely your Rack and Pinion.
If you had a low fluid level contained by the pump for too long, it could have damaged the bearings surrounded by the power steering pump.
