My Van Won't Start And It Won't Go Ingear, What Could It Be?
My van wont click over and i tried getting a jump and it still wont click over and my gear is stuck in park
Answer:
In order to crank the engine, you hold to have clean and tight battery cable & terminals, a good battery and a righteous starter.
Without the electrical power to start your engine, you would not be able to move the gear shifter out of park, because the shifter lock, "that is also your brake light switch", is powered by the battery.
Does the van try to start when you turn the switch? If it doesn't then you should check the battery, starter, and alternator. AUTO ZONE checks these items for free, if you bring it to them. Your van will not go into gear because here is no power going to the computer (ECM).
