Gene Tunney was a United States boxer and the world heavyweight champion of his time. His original label was James Joseph Tunney, but with the time of his growing popularity changed his name and give him the nickname Gene Tunney. He was born on 25th May of 1898 in New York surrounded by the United States.
Tunney started his career as a boxer in the marine crops. He be so much popular in marine boxing that he was entitled beside another nickname of "the fighting marine". Jack Dempsey was the world heavyweight winner of that time. In 1926, in a fight with Jack Dempsey, Tunney defeated him and won the title of world heavyweight boxing victor.
