Why Is Customer Service On The Decline, Is It Lack Of Training Or Poor Choice Of Employees Hired To Do The Job?

I personally think it is a little of both. By poor choice of member of staff I think it may be the unskilled labor force or maturity level of the individuals that are hired.  I also imagine the mentality contributes to the poor customer service and by that I mean the generational mentality that are not familiar with correct examples of "great customer service".
