I just created the recovery disks on my dv7-1232 last darkness. I forget how many CDs it would have taken (more than I would have the tolerance to shuffle through), but it will take either 3 single layer DVDs or 2 dual-layer DVDs.

i did a backtup disk for my hp pavilion dv7-1190er, contained by the process of backing up your pc, hp recovery maneger ask the method of abiding your packup disk. If it's on dvds it requiered 2 disks, cd's, i guess it was 12 and dual layer dvds only one requierd. Note that process of protection up your pc run only one time.
