What Is The Photoelectric Effect?

Answer:
When a light of threshold frequency is incident on the surface of metal, electrons are emitted from the metal surface. This effect is known as photo electric effect. In other words, when ultraviolet current is incident on a metal surface it results in emission of electrons. The electrons which are emitted from the surface of metal, as the result of photoelectric effect, are set as photoelectric electrons. The amount of photoelectric current depends upon the intensity of incident light.
