What Does DNA Store?

Answer:
Basically, our genes.
DNA stores information.  The information coded for by DNA is used for assembling the proteins that your body uses for producing all your physical structures. Proteins are chains of amino acids the fold into specific shapes and have specific functions.  DNA codes for the amino acid sequences that engineer up an organism's proteins.  Some proteins that are produced are structural proteins and some are enzymes that cause chemical reactions to occur at the appropriate rate.  Some proteins affect other molecules contained by chain reactions that ultimately control almost every aspect of physiology.

You can think of an organism as a living apparatus and proteins, coded for by genes, which are segments of DNA, form the gears and circuits that make it all function.
