Because we all work the same way - calories contained by, calories out. It doesn't just magically start when you're an adult.

Teens eat (some drink a LOT, others not so much), so they're putting calories into their bodies. You need to exercise in order to work of the excess calories surrounded by your food, because odds are, a teen consumes more than their basal metabolic rate (the amount of calories you need to stain life).

"But I don't eat much at adjectives!" Then you're kind of stupid. Depriving your body of the food it needs will only injure you in the long run, even if it makes you nice and skinny right now. It's an harmful skinny, and it can get even more unhealthy as you get elder. Your bet bet is to eat a healthy amount and exercise regularly.

Besides, getting into a regular exercise routine as a teen saves you the trouble of trying to swot up one as an adult! :)
