I do not know where it is stated for that but I do know that it is true. My sister in law is lllegal and have her son a couple of years ago and he is a united states citizen. If you have the birth certificate and they confer you the SS number you are a citizen. Everywhere we go they know he is a citizen when they look at his birth certificate.
