When my roommates and I moved into our new place the land lord wanted first months rent, later months rent, $500 security deposit from all 3 of and and, just from me, a $700 pet surety deposit (for my 2 pound chihuahua!). It is legal for him to demand all 4 of these from me? I live contained by MA and I've been told by a couple people that he can only ask for 3.
