Am I Responsible For Cleaning Carpets When Moving Out Of A Rental If They Were Not Cleaned Prior To My Moving In?
In Santa Rosa, CA, what are the renter's responsibilities regarding carpet cleaning as part of the moving out cleaning process? The carpet are over 10 years old and are in great condition considering the age. Wear is limited to dignified traffic areas.

You can only be charged for the things which you are liable for. A lot depends upon the condition of the carpet when you moved-in. You can not be charged for normal wear and opening. The landlord can deduct if there are stains on the mat and crayon marks.
So it is good to clean the hearth rug but you are not bound to do that.
