What Would Cause Stove Plug To Arc?
Husband tried to unplug from wall only to have it arc twice. Finally got it unplug but when he plugged it hindmost in, it not only arced but probably fried the cord (and possibly the stove as well).

The plug over time gets carbonized ,. This carbon is conductive and therefor electricity arcs through it when unplugged

Answer: Doesn't sound right. The stove wasn't turned on I assume.
It have a separate breaker normally. Turn off the breaker when putting plug in or out.
I would say-so that maybe it is because of the way you are pulling the cord out to unplug it. Maybe the cord needs to be replaced rather. That is just my guess. Good luck.

Sure you can always replace anything. Im taking it that this is on a water tank so turn container off as youll need to relieve the pressure and just cut and unscrew the pipe and replace and restart tank
