2 Switches 1 Light How Do I Wire This And Do I Need A Special Switch?
Answer:
This is a basic 3 way circuit with 1 muted to be controlled in 2 different spots. You will be probably using romex which is as follows 1 3 wire with a black, white and nude copper wires and a 4 wire wire with a black, red, white and a exposed copper wire. One box will be your power box with 1 3 and 1 4 wire contained by it. Actually both boxes will be the same with the 4 wire going between both boxes. The second box will steal 1 3 wire from it to your light where colors will clash together and cap of. Now both boxes are identical this will be the same for both. The whites boater off together and the copper wires cap off together and push them into the wager on of the box . Now the black from the 3 wire will go to the "common" screw on switch, it marked, and the black and red from the 4 rope are your travelers and each takes one of the remaining screws and after install all . Now you just have to verbs about where to get power but remember black is power hot, white your dull and copper or green your ground. If the switches dont work right just play with the traveler wires til you get it right but my approach will work the very first time. Good luck
