I Was Washing A Quilt In My Maytag Washer And It Stop Running And A Weird Smell. Is Something Wrong And Can I Fix It Myself?

Answer:
It might be that once the quilt became water soaked, it was so strapping that it put too much load on the washers' drive belt or the motor.
With a little luck, it smelled like rubber, stopped during the spin cycle and you may with the sole purpose have to replace the belt.
If it stopped during the wash or rinse cycle, more likely the motor adjectives up.
  Good luck to you.
Comment: Wow i am a bit dumb! But something similar happened too me! And that is what i did! Somebody Please Talk Too Me I Am Sooooooo Bored!
Answer: I'm with the answer about the belt. My husband has bad to replace several on my washer. Depending on the make of your washer, it's not a most important major repair, and the belt doesnt cost THAT much. Much cheaper than a new washer, BY FAR. Good Luck!
