How Do I Get Seedlings Or Plantings From My Japanese Maple?
I want to be able to get additional plantings from my Japanese maple.
Answer:
Clip sour some small new growth dip the clipped end in root tone which contains growth hormones and can be purchased at a wal-mart or the approaching. then plant it in soil and make sure you keep hold of it watered. it may appear to die but give it a month or so as it will grow. good luck.
I live in Northern Nevada and our soil is awful at best. I hold tried Root Hormone and everything else. What actually worked for me is taking the start and trimming off all the small leaves and starter branches. I find potting soil, peat moss, a little bit of manure and mix it with something like half of your planter with the soil you will eventually plant it in from your courtyard. Stick your starter in and water at least once a daytime. Keep it outside so it climatizes. It takes a few weeks before you start seeing buds of new leaves but I started beside nothing and now I have heaps willows, pines, lilacs and Siberian pea bushes. Good luck. :)
