Is It Ok To Prune Rose Bush This Late In Season, Or Should I Wait Until Late Winter/early Spring?

I just moved into a house that has a large rose bush (4ft.widex5ft.tall), and is within bad needing of being pruned. Ive be told both, that it's ok to prune anytime and others have said to wait until late winter or precipitate spring

Answer:
It's okay to trim it now,it's not cold out yet.  You are supposed to actually trim them at the lapse of the season so they come in fuller next season.
I would wait until spring after the closing frost. When you prune them right before winter there is a chance surrounded by the bush sending out new growth on warm days, and could kill the bush. You could probably trim it immediately and it would be fine, but the best time to trim is in spring.
