150hp 3ph 480v 6 Wires Coming Out Of Motor How Do You Pair Them Up Without Numbers? All I Have Is #2 And #7.
Answer:
You need to find a schematics for the order or it is guess. There are most likely markings that you are missing somewhere. I believe they do this to complicate issues. Lol
HI, your motor is wired contained by coils. Use an ohm meter to find the pairs that match. You can then choose to wire the motor delta or star delta. If delta, you should read almost exact ohms between three of the leads in any combination. THree leads however will not. They will simply read from each lead to ground of the case.
THis is a star delta motor. If you want large torque with slow speed use the leads that you read ohms on only to ground. Cap the other three lead individually. If you want a high speed motor, use the leads that read between each other. That would be a Delta electrics. Again cap individually the other three leads. THis typer of motor is usually controlled by two starters. The motor starts in the star position later the contractors switch changing the wiring while the motor is running. High torque to get it going and glorious speed to keep it going.
Hope this helps!
