Trees drop lots of seeds that germinate but not all of them survive. I stayed on a farm surrounded by upstate New York and saw that there were so many little trees on the ground surrounded by the spring. As high as you could look up there were trees and on the ground be lots of little ones that had the same leaves as the ones in the sky. It be really cool.
