7 Year-old Chihuahua Has Cough For 2 Months. Antibiotics And Cough Medicine Prescribed Twice, Cough Returning. Vet Did X-rays, Found Spots On Lungs, But Doesn't Have Symptoms Of Lung Cancer. Also Showed Enlarged Heart. What's Wrong?
This little guy came to me from the shelter so I really don't know much about his previous history with vaccination and the like. Teddy quickly captured my heart and I want to do everything I can to keep hold of him healthy, but we can't seem to figure out why he continues to cough. It in the main happens when he gets excited. He doesn't really play, he is a couch potato - but he does dance for his food and attention. The coughing is in fact more like a gagging reflex - like something is caught surrounded by his throat. Please help.
