Anyone Know What I Could Use Instead Of Ketchup For A Recipe? Unable To Tolerate Tomatoes.

Answer:
I felt so bad for you after reading your question and the dumb answer that you received so I did for a time research.  It must be horrible for you not to be able to eat anything with tomatoes.  Unfortunately, here was not a great answer to your question.  I came up beside two things.  Substitute ketchup with a puree of red bell peppers and a dash of lemon liquid.  They also make a thing called mushroom ketchup which although it's not ketchup by any stretch, it sounds close to it could be OK.  Recipe and directions are on homecooking.about.com  It also sounds like abundantly of work.  One last thought is this.  When I had to restrict my diet to low-sodium foods, I found it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.  I did some internet research and found things that I liked to drink which were normally not high contained by sodium.  Also, through recipe and food preparation tip research, I was able to correct some of the things I really did like but couldn't own with things that I could.  Has actually turned out pretty good.  If you steal that approach, perhaps you can find that living without ketchup isn't so bad.  I hope you don't judge I'm some kind of nut for making such a big deal out of this if it isn't to you but doesn't hurt to provide outside feedback.  Right?
Unless you are allergic, you should use the ketchup because 9 times out of 10 you won't taste it
