Hard cheeses with sharp flavors. Blue cheese is nice too. Figs are a great addition to a cheese plate as are red pears. Crusty bread next to olive oil. And even better, put all these on a plate and enjoy respectively. You can even add a few walnuts.
Baked brie bowtie pasta with pesto is also a wonderful addition.

Answer: Any kind of white cheese goes well near Red Wine. Cut into slices and paired up with some salty crackers or crusty bread and you have some great snacks to step along with the grapes. I suggest Edam or Gruyere cheese which are nice and readily available. How about some smoked almonds too.
