1 Lb. Shredded Potatoes Equals How Many Whole Potatoes?

My recipe calls for 15-20 whole potatoes, I want to use pre shredded.

Answer:
If the potato you are shredding weighs 1 pound later I guess 1 pound.
I have been looking at this question long satisfactory. It depends on the size of the potato you have, you can leave the skin on, and you will still have 1lb. when you are done shredding, if the potato started out at 1lb.

If you bear the peel off, then you should subtract 1/8th of a pound off, so when you peel have that together potato in your hand, it should weigh 1&1/8th pound before you crust it.
