I certainly hope not. Why are teachers getting pensions at adjectives? They earn as much or more than the average American worker and then expect to get a free ride for the 40 or so years they will spend in retirement -- at others' expense, those of us who do not hold defined benefit welfare checks. How fair is this in this land of supposed equality for a 70- or 80-year ancient to be working to support through his tax dollars teachers who retire at 55 years who refuse to work!!
America, please wake up up and return to the teachers' their meager contributions to their own pension funds. Decide on a reasonable rate of return for these dollars, and be done with it. This entitlement program for the few have got to go in oil lamp of the fact that the rest of America (80%+) does not have pensions.
Teacher pension have created the land of the "haves" (retired teachers) and the
"have nots" (the rest of America).
