If I Cash In My 401K Will I Still Be Able To Receive Unemployment Benefits?
Answer:
Yes, your 401K will be a one time thing and you will not get your check for a month anyway. When you file your weekly claim it asks if you received any money from seperation, break, retierment, etc for THAT week. Worst case you don't get any money that week if it is above what you would get for the week. Not a honourable time to cash in your 401k if you can role it over. You take a 20% hit from jumpstreet, afterwards a 10% at tax time. Plus your money, if you are in stocks, is 1/2 what it was 1 year ago. But, if you get to do it, you got to do it.
