Charles Dickens married Catherine Hogarth in April, 1836. They had met in 1834 and gotten busy in 1835. Together, Charles and Catherine had ten children.
However, the marriage be not very blissful after some time. Charles got 'disenchanted' with Catherine. Some inhabitants stipulated that he was having an affair with Catherine's sister, Georgina who lived beside them. However, it was actually Ellen Ternan who turned out to be Dicken's mistress. Ellen was an actress that Dickens have hired for his plays.
Catherine and Dickens legally separated in June 1858. Their eldest son went to live beside Catherine while the other children lived with Dickens.
