You should watch for other symptoms like loss of weight and appetite, diarrhea, shadowy color of stools, paleness of the gums and weakness. Your vet can order for complete blood count, urine analysis, coagulation profile, ultrasound, chest/abdominal x-ray, and endoscopy etc. Treatment depends upon underlying motive.
