Boxers are wonderful dogs. They aren't for everyone though. They are very active breed and need lots of room to run and agree to off energy. They are usually very honourable with children, but need to be socialized from a early age. I have one who was scared to death of children as a puppy, and I even took it to school so he could be around kids, but he never got better. He loved my kids, but I could never let him around other children. I found out later that neighborhood kids be picking at him when I wasn't home. He was very protective of me and my children though. His mother loved everyone. I didn't clip my Boxer's ears. I figured I wasn't going to be showing him, so I agree to his ears stay natural. Its a very painful process so I chose not to cut its ears. I've have three Boxers in my lifetime and each one was a great line pet. They are prone to cancers and heart problems, so make sure your vet checks your puppy early for any heart complications. They are immensely smart and eager to please. They are very good next to children and make great indoor pets as well as outdoor pets. We have owned several and they hold always made great companions.
