You didn't say the age of the pups but if they are newborns (or under 4 weeks) next no she needs to nurse them through out the night.....when they are eating more solid food regularly after you can start letting her be away from them but the younger they are then she needs to care for them....
This is NOT a perfect idea! Puppies need nourishment from their mother! If you want to be essential her, just place the whelping box in your bedroom.
