My Small Dog Panted And Shivered For Several Hours Last Night, Would Not Let Us Hold Him Or Sleep In Our Bed. What Could Make Him Do That? Not Eating Or Drinking Well Either.

From past experience I think your dog was poisoned or ate something that effect a poisonous reaction. He could have done anything from eating something past its sell-by date the floor after you mopped it with disinfectant to eating a small frog outside... If he is still alive then his body may enjoy fought it off by sweating it out... You should take him to the vet and have him examined.
Comment: Thanks for the proposal, we took him back to the vet, who didn't have any real answer, but put him on an antibiotic, and some high-ranking calorie supplement gel to help get him eating. He is starting point to eat a litttle now but still doesn't feel powerfully. Hopefully he will be aright. Thanks again. Amy
